$5.00 Dollar Dinner Challenge - - Chicken and Dumplings

Chicken and Dumplings
2 Chicken breasts ($ 1.94)
1 cup all-purpose flour ($ .45)
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt ($ .05)
1 tablespoon margarine ($ .10)
1/2 cup milk ($ .50)
Garlic
Parsley
additional flour to correct texture
Place chicken in a large pot and cover with water. While waiting for chicken to boil make
dumplings

Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt in medium size bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in milk to make a soft dough.
Drop by spoonfuls into boiling stew. Sprinkle garlic and parsley over the top to taste. Cover and simmer 15 minutes without lifting lid.

Fish out the chicken breasts and shred them.

If stew is too thin add flour to correct the texture. Serve.

Okay I know that my prices there are estimations and might be the most correct but I assure you, that you can make this for under $ 5.00 mostly with things you already have in your home.
