My aunt and I were very much alike. When I was little my parents would call me "Little Donna Jo." Her two sons were the closest to me in age and I spent alot of time at their house. Including one week one summer where I caught poison ivy. Her sons and I used to all sleep in the same water bed with me in the middle. She always wanted a little girl but only had two sons so she used to send me frilly dresses in the mail. Her younger son did give her a granddaughter and she loved that little girl to pieces.
Everytime I hear this song I think of her and I would like to share it with you today (I have posted the lyrics after the video.
Sissy's Song by Alan Jackson
Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason without rhyme
Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter, wife and mother
Makes no sense to me
I just have to believe
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Loved ones she left behind
Just trying to survive
And understand the why
Feeling so lost inside
Anger shot straight at God
Then asking for His love
Empty with disbelief
Just hoping that maybe
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish
And I won't cry 'cause
She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she's smiling saying
Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me
Don`t worry 'bout me
Thank you for letting me share...

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It is never easy losing someone we love. Hold those wonderful memories dear to your heart and pull them out whenever you need a lift. She is always there with you.
Congrat's on the 1 year and I am sorry to hear about your aunt. Always hard for those unexpect deaths. I have had several of those unexpected deaths in my life and it is very hard. My cousin lost her husband last summer, 39 years old, killed in an auto accident. Left behind 3 children and a wife who was pregnant. He now has a son that never got to know his father. SAD!!!
I love this song by Alan Jackson, I heard on the radio the other day that he wrote this about someone that was a big part of his and his families life.
